I am sure that child will rather be somewhere else than under the sun. What does this say about responsible motherhood?

I’m sure the child would want nothing other than to be with his mother. The mother wants to be with her child. In this case, both desires/needs get met, and the mother does what she feels best in other areas of life as well. That’s what responsible motherhood does.
Doesn’t it matter if the mum is actually paying attention to the baby right now? rather than use the baby as a publicity tool?
She IS paying attention to the baby – she is HOLDING him. That’s what most babies that age desire (well, food/milk and a clean diaper as well). She’s also doing something else simultaneously. Its natural to parent your children and do other things at the same time. This is what women (and many men) have done through out time.
It does seem offensive that the child is used as a publicity tool. But I have to agree with Wbmoore it is kinda of a win win scenario the child gets to be with his Mom and vice versa and the Mum gets to earn a living at the same time.
